Laser for Tool Setting

The laser measuring system generates a laser beam between an emitter and a receiver mounted inside the machine tool working area.

When the laser beam is interrupted by a tool mounted on the spindle the laser system outputs a signal to the machine CNC.
The CNC stores the relevant axes positions and elaborate the tool geometry by means of a dedicated tool setting software.

Being a non contact measuring system the laser technology allows to rotate the tool during the length and diameter measure This helps to obtain the most accurate measure of the tool geometry and to automatically compensate possible radial spindle run-out and tool eccentricity.
